Re-Dedication – Simcoe Carillon Tower
June 17 @ 12:00 pm
Originally dedicated on June 17th, 1925, this was the second Carillon tower built in Ontario and serves as Norfolk County’s war memorial. It bears the names of the 396 Norfolk men who laid down their lives in the first and second world wars, and most recently Afghanistan. Many of these men were local masons.
We will be parading from the Simcoe Legion Branch 59 to the Carillon for the memorial rededication service and have received dispensation to wear regalia for any masons wishing to participate. If you are not able to march in the parade, then you are welcome to attend the service that will be held at the Carillon on Norfolk Street in front of Simcoe Composite school.
For anyone wishing to participate in the parade, please be at the Simcoe Legion at 12:00 pm, stepping off between 12:20 – 12:30. The service will start at 1:00 pm at the Carillon.
